Borusan Lojistik, which dates back to 1973, continues its activities as an integrated logistics service provider with its accumulated experience and knowledge. Today it operates in the fields of domestic transportation and distribution, port management, warehouse management, international forwarding, chartering and customs clearance. It mainly provides services for the automotive, iron and steel, telecommunications, white-brown goods and beverage sectors. Borusan Lojistik offers general cargo and container unloading, loading and storage services to its customers in a single center at its port in Gemlik. In 2004, Borusan Lojistik established a business partnership with Gefco, one of the world’s leading logistics companies, and as a result started operations with Gefco Taşımacılık ve Logistics A.Ş. and Turkey’s first Vehicle Logistics Center. The Vehicle Logistics Center was originally built on an area of 70,000 m² in Köseköy, İzmit. This area was expanded in a short time and increased to 140,000m². The facility, which initially had a total storage capacity of 2,500 vehicles upon opening, can now provide services for 4,500 vehicles. In addition to Istanbul, Bursa, Ereğli and Izmir, Borusan Lojistik opened its Ankara and Adana Regional Directorates in 2003. It established transshipment centers in every region and commissioned the domestic partial distribution of products. Borusan Lojistik’s work continue with its investments this year and its RO-RO terminal services. The company sees its reason for existence in the sector as making a difference in service quality and diversity and being at the forefront of the organizations providing integrated logistics services to the Turkish market. Turning over $52 million last year, Borusan Lojistik aims to grow above 40% and increase its turnover to $74 million this year. The company aims to become the leading organization of the Turkish logistics sector in 2007 and successfully apply the strategic business plan prepared for this goal.
