In 2012, Borusan Lojistik carried out applications that create a difference in the sector with its innovative and environmental-friendly services and projects in energy efficiency. As with many other issues, it continues to securely document the point it has reached in its work on sustainability and the continuity of these efforts. 

The ISO 50001 Energy Management System aims to systematically monitor and improve the current and future use of important energy resources within the company and to provide energy savings. 

As a result of the audit conducted by the BSI (The British Standards Institution) in December 2012, Borusan Lojistik was awarded the ISO 50001 Energy Management System certificate for its infrastructure established for effective follow-up and improvement of energy resources and became the first logistics company in Turkey to receive this certificate. 

Borusan Lojistik started its carbon footprint calculation work in 2010 with the aim of reducing its carbon footprint and its impact on nature. In line with its energy efficiency certification, it completed its verification works for reducing the amount of greenhouse gas it emits into the atmosphere in 2011 and the energy resources it uses, and was awarded with certification after receiving ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Emissions validation from the BSI in January 2012. 

Borusan Lojistik carries out exemplary sustainability work in the sector with its nature friendly services and projects. Since 2011, Borusan Lojistik has been undergoing its mission to plant a forest of 1,000,000 trees. The afforestation campaigns in the Ödemiş District of İzmir continue within the scope of this tree planting campaign. In addition to the ISO 50001 energy efficiency infrastructure works that started in 2012, energy efficiency projects are being realized at Borusan Lojistik. At Borusan Port, electricity conversion is being carried out for construction equipment and our port lighting optimization and LED conversion projects continue. 

Borusan Lojistik supports the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions via effective follow-up and reduction of consumption rates in vehicle fleets and energy efficiency.
