Addressing

The process of coding or numbering the locations where the material will be kept in a suitable sequence in order to track the products stocked in the warehouse in a certain order.

Stock Control

Continuous or periodic monitoring of stocks to determine the orders or requirements in a manner that does not cause stock excess or stock shortage and in accordance with the specified rules. 

(Goods Receipt Document, Goods Received Note (GRN), Receipt of Goods)

The document containing the load and address information of the sender, the buyer and the carrier, put together by the third party logistics service provider for the goods whose shipment it has organized.

Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS)

The conduction of processes via computer controlled equipment, such as the removal of the material from the place where it is stored, its loading into the warehouse and its transferal.

Buffer Stock

 The stock held between business centers to regulate production flow.

Class Based Storage Policy

The storage policy in which products are classified according to their movement and separate stock areas for these classes are kept.
